Every good website needs a logo, right? Flickr has its two dots, Del.icio.us has its checkered square, and Twentyone Degrees (the makers of Symphony) have their insanely awesome 3 dots and a circle. And what does Airfrost have? … Um … an asterisk … set in Helvetica … yeah … that has got to change.
And so change it will, with the advents of the Symphony 2.0 beta and Airfrost 3!
So, as a (fairly lame, I’ll admit) thanks to all of you wonderful readers (all 5 of you—yes, 3 more from last time!), I’ve decided to accidentally disregard the confidentiality of anything regarding Airfrost 3 and, y’know, accidentally slip to you awesome people the current state of the logo I came up with. Whoops.
So what do you guys think? Should I just stuff this back into my noggin with a lot of the other wacky stuff that I tend to come up with, or should I slap some ©’s and ™’s on that before someone decides to get inspired by it?
Each to their own, some people won’t like it, some people will like it. I’m happy to say I do like it!
Go for it, though I think you should let this arfrost go as a free theme, once you’re onto airfrost 3, and become a global phenomenon!

@Alex That would be cool. Not sure how many people would want a Symphony theme, but I’ll keep that in mind once I’m done with Airfrost 3.

Nice! I like it.

Hey, thanks for the link and the kind words! That made my day. I’m really digging this design too.
I think the logo is nice too but regardless of that, I’d say if it feels right to you, use it. If you like it, odds are some other people out there will too. That’s my philosophy :)

FINALLY! You took my advice and used that beautiful sketch! Of course feel free to pretend I didn’t talk you into it, but whatever, at least your using the good logo…
MacLean 2008.01.28
I think that logo is ingenious! :P But, airfrost 3 already? I’m just getting used to airfrost 2, lol.
Leo Mancini 2008.01.28
River, this site is really nice, don’t change too much or you’ll loose your brand. I recently made that mistake on my own site.
I don’t really like the logo, but I do like the lettering, perhaps you should draw “airfrost” in the same style, with a better, more fun asterisk.
I think it’d look awesome!
Rowan Lewis 2008.01.29
Sorry, that really should say:
I think it’d look even more awesome!
;)

Ya its Gio! I finale took the time to check out your site, and I Gota say its beautifully done! Good job! I knew u were smart but damn. Maybe I only think its amazing because I’m a technowinie (reference to hackers 1995) but seriusly awsome!
P.S: I wrote this on my touch.

Thanks, everyone, for commenting! I can’t tell you guys how much I appreciate them. I think I should’ve made it more clear, though, that my development cycles for Airfrost are insanely long — Airfrost 3 is really nothing to get worried about right now; Airfrost 2 will still be here for a good couple of more months, probably. But the problem is that I just can’t really settle on a design for more than a couple of months.
@Rowan Louis: That seems like a good idea; I’ll probably try just adapting that into “Airfrost.” I think I will still keep that concept, though, for smaller versions of the logo. Thanks for the critique. :)
@Steve C.: Thanks for the advice! :)
@Everyone else in general: Thanks again!

Fawesome. Make that one more. :P

Hac! Nice to see that you’re still alive! :D

Great logo! It looks like an ancient marking some archaeologist found on the side of a tomb. :P I like it!
Chad Ohman 2008.02.02
the logos looks pretty cool - it’s a step up from the one you got and sticks out.
Jayson 2008.02.24
it’s really cool, but confusing, it looks like 3 A more than it looks like AF
